Bjp 3 1 Sweep In State Polls

BJP 3-1 sweep in state polls

BJP secures huge victory in Madhya Pradesh, dethrones Congress in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh

Victories give a boost to the ruling Hindu nationalist party ahead of national elections next year

India's ruling Hindu nationalist party, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has won in three of four state elections, according to trends released by the Election Commission on Tuesday. The BJP secured a huge victory in Madhya Pradesh, where it won 156 of the 230 seats in the state assembly. In Rajasthan, the BJP dethroned the incumbent Congress party, winning 163 of the 200 assembly seats. In Chhattisgarh, the BJP also defeated the Congress, winning 50 of the 90 assembly seats.

The BJP's victory in these three states is a major boost for the party ahead of national elections next year. The party is now in power in 17 of India's 29 states.

The Congress party, which has been in power at the national level since 2004, suffered a major setback in these elections. The party lost power in two of the three states where it was the incumbent government. In Madhya Pradesh, the Congress won only 56 seats, while in Rajasthan, it won only 21 seats.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which is the ruling party in Delhi, also contested the elections in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. However, the party failed to win any seats in either state.
