And Then There Was One Bayern Munichs Only Remaining Player From The Vaunted Summer Transfer Window Class Of 22 Is Mathys Tel

Bayern Munich's 2022 Summer Transfer Window: A Success or a Failure?

Bayern Munich's Only Remaining Summer Signing

Sky Sport journalist Kerry Hau recently posted an interesting note on Twitter, highlighting that Bayern Munich's only remaining member from its heralded 2022 summer transfer window is Mathys Tel. The 17-year-old French forward has made just two appearances for Bayern this season, totaling just 24 minutes of playing time. This has led to some questioning whether Bayern's summer transfer window was a success or a failure.

Assessing Bayern's Summer Transfers

Bayern Munich made a number of high-profile signings in the summer of 2022, including Sadio Mane, Matthijs de Ligt, and Ryan Gravenberch. These players were all expected to make an immediate impact, but so far, they have failed to live up to expectations. Mane has been inconsistent, de Ligt has struggled with injuries, and Gravenberch has yet to establish himself in the starting lineup.

On the other hand, Bayern also made some shrewd signings, such as Noussair Mazraoui and Jamal Musiala. Mazraoui has been a solid performer at right-back, while Musiala has emerged as one of Bayern's most important players. Overall, it is still too early to say whether Bayern's summer transfer window was a success or a failure. The team is still in contention for all three major trophies, and the new signings may still come good in the second half of the season.
